Rice Crispie Castle

This rice crispie treat castle is the perfect addition to a summer party because it looks like a sand castle. To make this, I used a rice crispie recipe. Normally when I make rice crispy treats, I add a extra marshmallows and butter to make them very gooey. However, this time I made them according to the following recipe, substituting Lucky Charms and Crunchberries for Rice Crispies:

2 tbs margarine or butter
6 cups mini marshmallows
6 cups cereal

Melt the margarine/butter in a double boiler, add in the marshmallows slowly and continue stirring until everything is melted. Pour the marshmallow mixture over the cereal and mix thouroughly.

For the "ground," I used lucky charms and flattened them on a tray coated with cooking spray. For the castle, I made two batches of the recipe above and pressed the treats into 2 thoroughly greased circular tupperware - one large one and one small one - and I let the treats cool in the fridge for ~30 minutes. After the treats had cooled, I eased them out of the tupperware and assembled the castle. As a finishing touch, I made a flag out of a bamboo skewer and some paper.

I made this treat for Erica and Beth's going away party (party in a bag theme). I miss them!
